Recently we had an opportunity to meet with Mr Greg Odum, CEO Odum Capital and Serious Wireless GSM, head office in Washington DC with branches overseas. We would like to thank Mr Odum for taking a few minutes to give us an insight into the international consulting business.
The Millionaires Club (TMC): Hello Mr Odum, please tell us the nature of your business.
We are an innovative investment firm, specializing in equity and debt financing, telecom and international consulting.
TMC: As a young man in his 20s, please tell us what led you to leave your job and venture into your own business.
After 5 years in the IT/telecom sector, I realized that I needed to fulfill my vision, by living out my dream, personally the rewards justified the risk, so I decided to start-up my company.
TMC: Do you have any advice or tips to offer to our readers?
When running you own business, always focus on value, towards your clients and staff. Only provide services you believe in 100%, your passion is the best driving force for being successful.
TMC: Please tell us what services your business can provide for budding entrepreneurs.
We provide financial solutions for start-ups and small businesses such as in grant writing, and helping provide avenues for capital/funding. Our other area of specialization is in international consulting. We currently assist Asian and African firms interested in gaining access into the US market, and vice versa. For example China is a booming economy but many American investors have no knowledge of how to obtain business there and network, as an American company with strong Chinese ties, we serve as the middle men protecting the interests of those American investors. Matter of fact, 80% of our interests are based overseas.
TMC: What can we expect from Odum capital in the future?
We are aggressively expanding our investments and services in emerging markets. We expect to reach the $30M mark by fourth quarter 2008.
